About

Where it started

I grew up in Kanpur, India, fascinated by computers from the first time I sat in front of one at school. When it was time to pick a degree I studied mechanical engineering at BITS Pilani, and taught myself to program in the gaps: data structures in C++, online programming contests, hackathons.

That quiet side project became the main thing. Software felt like a place where I could make something real from an idea, quickly, and see how it behaved.

Building things, and learning how they learn

My first job was at Comverse, building a presence server that had to keep working for millions of subscribers. Then came Adobe, working on Illustrator, where I shipped a feature that let designers export several pieces of artwork at once.

I wanted to understand machine learning properly, so I moved to the United States for a master's in computer science at the University at Buffalo. That led to Meta, first as an intern and then for more than five years, in California and later London. I worked on marketplace integrity, on enforcement against COVID-19 misinformation, and on ranking and recommendation for Instagram creators. After that I built payroll and tax systems at Rippling.

Looking back, I notice I kept choosing work where technology could reduce harm or help people build something of their own: protecting a marketplace from scams, limiting the spread of harmful misinformation, helping creators earn from their work. Today I'm a senior software engineer at Bloomberg in London, working on climate and nature data.

The other half of the map

Alongside the engineering, I've spent years exploring meditation, self-inquiry and the big questions about how to live. I've read widely, sat with practices and retreats, and learnt that I think best when I'm curious rather than certain.

I don't claim that makes me an authority on your life. It does shape how I listen, and it's why I care about the human side of the things I build. I'm also still learning how modern AI systems work on the inside, because I'd like to understand technology I'm asked to trust.

Play, and making things

Some of what I do doesn't fit on a résumé. I write poetry, I dance, and I like building strange, hopeful things on the internet. That's where the three Vibes worlds came from: Healing Vibes (opens in a new tab), Playful Vibes (opens in a new tab) and Creative Vibes (opens in a new tab). They're siblings rather than stages, and this site is their shared front door.

What this means for working together
